Tapion Neiti that we call Stina is our oldest Finnish Spitz. She is a calm and a mentally stable dog.
She is a good sporting-dog.
We use her when we go hunting capercaillie in the forests. A capercaillie is a large bird that lives in the forests in northern Europe and in the Alps.
It is a very exciting form of hunting. The dog search throughout the ground until it finds a bird. When the bird flies up and settles down in a tree the dog marks its place by barking at and looking up on it. In the meantime the hunter has to creep as far as he or she can, to see the bird and shoot it.
I can assure you that it isn't as easy as it sounds.
There are trials in how good the dog works. Stina has got two first prices and is a champion of hunting.
Stina is a very successful show dog. For example has she been Best in show two times and best of breed, more than ten times.
Stina died when she was nearly twelve years old and she left a huge hole in our hearts.

Tilda is a very determined lady, she rules the other dogs with her iron will.
When she was fifteen months she got her first cacib and became best of breed.
Barely two months later she got a CAC and a cacib at a dog show in Finland where she became best of breed as well. It was an amazing experience to win in Finland, the home country of the breed.
In the summer of 2003 Tilda became Best of Breed and got her third cacib.
Tilda has got one first price in a hunting trial.
She lives with my parents.
